Protest in Washington, DC
2020

From the beginning of the BLM movements, the protests have been directed at police brutality against African Americans. In 2020 alone, millions have protested against these senseless acts of violence. In this photograph, the artist Dee Dwyer captures a man who demands both accountability from the police and support from the African American community. The sign the man holds firmly above his head reads: “Put Down The Guns & Pick Up Our Kids! Cure Our Streets.”
