CES - Will '18
Inner Landscape
For his CES project, Will chose to paint emotional landscapes, images of the land around Millbrook rooted in reflection of his emotional growth during his time as a student. He created series of four abstract expressionist landscape oil paintings using reference photos of the Millbrook area; the series helped Will to “recognize, process, and manage” his emotions, with a special focus on his VIth form year, a period for him of “profound emotional growth.” The paintings are stunning, and the process of creating them facilitated a truly culminating and reflective experience for Will, who skillfully and beautifully told the story of becoming his best self.
