CES - David '18

The Binary Self
David used art to explore his personal psyche since, for him, art was a constant process of self-exploration and journaling without words during his four years at Millbrook. Each piece of artwork represented in physical form some aspect of his personality, growth, and struggles, with the mediums being thoughtfully selected to reflect his self-perception. His dynamic exhibition featuring masks, monsters, and artistic interpretations of weapons. Monsters represent his thoughts, the masks represent different parts he “plays” when communicating, and the weapons represent how he feels he defends himself during challenging times.
