Warner Gallery Features Exhibit by Katharine Bontecou

The Warner Gallery will host Gatherings, collected works of Katharine Bontecou, from September 20th through October 20th.
Katharine was a local, raised in Dutchess County, and a longtime resident of Millbrook. Her work is what she was, joyful, light, colorful and alive. It is a reminder that we all leave a part of ourselves in something. Her work is lyrical, simple, and to the point. Their bold color asks for nothing more than to be lived with.

The works in Gatherings are but a small sample of the vast and diverse group of paintings she completed in her lifetime. From her summers at Rhode Island School of Design, to her graduate work at Pratt, she found great joy in making Art. Sadly, since her death in 1999, much of her work has gone missing. Gatherings is an attempt to bring together a representative group that could tell her story.
