Conservation Tree: Saving Endangered Species Pennies at a Time!

The newest feature in the Trevor Zoo is the seven foot tall conservation tree located in the education building.
The conservation tree serves as the place where visitors to the zoo can drop their spare change into slots to support wildlife conservation and our seven endangered species: the black and white ruffed lemur, ring-tailed lemur, white-naped crane, Lake Victoria cichlid, golden lion tamarin, red wolf, and red pandas. So far, the red panda is leading with the highest amount of coin or cash donations. The slot designated "Can't Decide-Support Them All!" is close behind in total donations.

The conservation tree was designed and constructed as an independent senior project by Alex Simard '10 and Jason San Antonio '10 with the guidance and support from Dr. Alan Tousignant, Assistant Director of the Trevor Zoo. To date, the tree has raised $450.
