<b>Trevor Zoo Internship Leads to Vet School</b>
We're proud to announce that our 2008-2009 Trevor Zoo Intern/Keeper Supervisor, Stacy Taylor, has been accepted to the veterinary school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Stacy was well known at Millbrook for the immaculate care she put into her work at the Trevor Zoo, her attention to detail, and her love of the animals. Stacy was also well-loved by the students with whom she worked.
The Trevor Zoo has been wonderful practical experience for many of our Keeper Supervisors who have later gone on to pursue a veterinarean degree including Della Garell (currently at Cheyenne Mountain Zoological Park), Stephanie James (currently at the Pittsburgh Zoo), Tom Noone, Gail Renehan, Kelly Hoopes, Lisa Tinanoff, Emily McCredie, Tim Slater, and Abbey Stella.
And one more interesting bit of history... our own Associate Director of the Trevor Zoo, Alan Tousignant, began here as Millbrook's third Keeper Supervisor in 1984. He went on to become the Associate Director of the zoo the following year, and took time off for several years to obtain his PhD from the University of Texas before returning to Millbrook in 1994. Boy, are we glad he did!
