Millbrook's 92nd Commencement

Millbrook’s 92nd Commencement took place under chamber-of-commerce blue skies as the community gathered to celebrate the Class of 2023. Head of School Jonathan Downs ’98 spoke glowingly and with true affection for the 83 members preparing to leave Millbrook better than they found it. Trustee Paul Stafford, P ’16, P ’19, proud parent of Henry ’23, greeted the crowd and expressed his affection for the Millbrook mission. Beloved educator Nancy Keller-Coffey talked about her wide-ranging experiences in learning and teaching before exhorting the class to go out and make a difference in the world.

Nominated by his classmates, Liam Kennelly delivered the Sixth Form Commencement Address, poking gentle fun at the unique people, events, and traditions that make Millbrook, Millbrook.
 
Four culminating awards were given to graduates:
Edward G. Allen Sportsmanship Cup: Alex Fraser
Community Service Cup: Hannah Coon
Casertano Cup: Alec Enchill and Avery Miller
Summa Cum Laude: Lucy Li
 
Members of the Class of 2023 began their Millbrook careers during a pandemic and rode waves of uncertainty and chaos, facing uncommon challenges together. By embracing the unknown, they worked with each other to build character, resilience, and fortitude and leave an indelible legacy on Millbrook.
