Arts Field Trips

Over 60 Millbrook student artists hit the road for fall arts field trips. The largest contingent, including members of performance portfolio, playwriting, Singers, and others traveled to New York City to see Beetlejuice on Broadway’s Marquis Theater.

In another group, led by Tyler Gundrum, honors ceramics students visited the Museum of Modern Art and found inspiration amidst the sculptures. Dance instructor Zoe Thomas led a group to the Joyce Theater. Kiernan Pazdar took the honors drawing and painting students to the Whitney Museum to see Edward Hopper’s New York exhibit followed by gallery hopping in Chelsea. Photography teacher Richard Widmer brought students to the International Center of Photography and the Whitney Museum.

Millbrook student artists benefit immeasurably from both proximity to and distance from New York City. The opportunity to visit a world-class museum or take in a Broadway show and then retreat to the unmatched beauty of the Hudson Valley is unique to Millbrook.
