Milly Thrift Is Open For Business

Milly Thrift is exceptionally well-stocked and open for business. The basement of Koenigsberger Hall is a one-stop-shop for vintage Milly swag including authentic game-worn uniforms and warmups, one-of-a-kind statement pieces, rugs, mats, reusable bags, pouches, and arm warmers handmade from recycled materials. Thrift advisor Martha Clizbe keeps her service group hopping thanks to a steady influx of donations from the Millbrook community. All donations are inspected and sorted before being added to stock.

 

Proceeds go to the Foodbank of the Hudson Valley, a local organization that distributes food to different food pantries. A dollar spent at Milly Thrift translates to four dollars in food pantry goods. The Milly Thrift community service, conceived several years ago with Rev. Cam Hardy, officially opened for business to members of the school community just before spring break and has already raised hundreds of dollars.

 

Mrs. Clizbe is also emphasizing the upcycling of donations with the goal of reusing items whenever possible to keep things out of landfills. The group has upcycled mattress pads into whiteboard erasers and crafted reusable shopping bags out of the many, many t-shirts that are donated. Some of these crafts may be for sale during Parent’s Weekend this spring.
