Fall Athletes Compete Post-Season

Four teams - or members of those teams - are in the run for New England athletic accolades at the highest level.

Millbrook's varsity volleyball team has its best record (11-4) in its brief four-year history. Coach Luke Westman launched our first JV team in 2016, and since 2018 he has been building the varsity program, focusing on skill development and team play. Dedication to the development of the players has paid off, as Millbrook defeated schools nearly twice our size this season, including Berkshire and Kent.

Millbrook volleyball will be making its first appearance in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournament on Wednesday, November 17, at 3:30 p.m. As the #6 seed in Class C, we'll be taking on #3 Cushing Academy in the quarter-finals at Williston Northampton. A fan bus will be traveling north to cheer on our Mustangs, and the game will be live-streamed on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/willistonnorthampton

Football will also be competing in their culminating tournament after wrapping up a regular season with a record of 4-2. The match-up against a tough Pomfret team will take place on Saturday, November 20, at 12:30 p.m. on Pomfret's home field. Millbrook's Mustangs are eager for this opportunity to beat Pomfret on their home turf after losing in the recent match-up during the inaugural Millbrook-Pomfret Day.

Saturday will be a race to the finish line for two other Millbrook athletes. Juliet Drury '24 and Matt Dale '22 had top-twenty finishes in their respective New England Preparatory School Association (NEPSA) Division III Invitational cross-country races on Saturday, November 13, which qualified them to run in the NEPSA All-Star Race at St. Mark’s School on November 20. They will be competing against the top 20 runners from all four divisions. Juliet crossed the finish line at New England's just four seconds after the winning racer from Brooks, and she has been strategizing on how to win in this all-star race. Matt is also a fierce competitor, having finished often in the top spot during the 9-week regular season and 8th overall at New Englands.

Finally, we would like to congratulate Shaye Jasiel '24 and Morgan Ainley '23, who were selected to represent Millbrook School at the Western New England Prep School All-Star game on Sunday, November 14 at Suffield Academy.   Both girls played exceptionally well, and Shaye had three assists!

Millbrook fans - fall sports are in the home stretch. Get ready to cheer for your Millbrook Mustangs! Go blue!!!
