We've Got Chills, They're Multiplying

Millbrook’s spring musical production of Grease played to a very live audience beneath a tent outside Casertano Hall. An ensemble cast of performing arts veterans and new faces brought the classic teen musical to life in front of seriously appreciative crowds. As the first and only live theater performance this year, the show indeed went on. From Summer Nights to You’re The One That I Want, the cast sang and danced their way through the show with style.

Ash Colangelo channeled John Travolta while making his stage debut as Danny Zuko. Bizzy Katz hit all the right notes as Sandra D. The Pink Ladies and the Burger Palace Boys held court as audiences time-traveled to sock-hops and witnessed under-attended rumbles while the band played on. Faculty cameos from Joe Schermann, Billy Thom, Leighann Kowalsky, and our beloved principal, Headmaster Drew Casertano truly brought down the house.

Directed by Elaine Lifter with Hannah Stewart as assistant, technical director Lauren Duffy had lots of heavy lifting to bring the show to the temporary outdoor space. Safely performing live theater for the community was a meaningful and fun way to close out an unusual year while looking forward to a return to normalcy.
