Canterbury Buried

The boys varsity tennis team hosted Canterbury today under beautiful skies and with hopes of getting back into the win column.  After a brief warm up following a 5-2 JV win, the three doubles matches began outside. Dan and Drew at #1 quickly dispatched their opponents 8-1. Ethan and Briceson at #2 fought hard but couldn't stay consistent enough on the big points losing 8-4.  Aiden and Charlie at #3 gave a valiant effort but also dropped their match 8-4 giving the Saints the first point of the contest.
Singles began immediately with 3 outside and 3 indoor matches, best of 3 sets.  Captain Dan at #1 was first off with a resounding 0 and 1 victory, followed soon by Matt at #2, 1 and 0. Drew and Cope at 3 and 4 both won in straight sets as well but were tested in close matches, 4 and 5, and 4 and 3. Nick and Luke at #5 and #6 clinched the match for the Mustangs, 3 and 1 and 2 and 1!
Final 6-1 Millbrook.
