7th Consecutive Win for Girls Varsity Basketball

In a close and exciting game, girls varsity basketball defeated Kent School (65-62) on Saturday, February 22, making Saturday's game their seventh consecutive win to-date.

Both teams played strong from the start, with each holding 8-point leads at different times in the game before coming to a 47-47 tie heading into the fourth quarter. The energy continued with consistent back-and-forth scoring. Kent then netted a 3-pointer with one minute and thirty seconds remaining, putting them ahead by one point.

The Mustangs maintained their composure, getting touches from all of their players before finding Kimora Jenkins '21 for a turnaround jumper in the mid-post, giving Millbrook the lead. Millbrook executed a textbook defensive position before throwing the ball to Scout Swift '23 for a layup, making the final score 65-62. This win brings the team's overall record to 12-8; they are one step closer to potentially competing in the NEPSAC Tournament at the conclusion of the season.

“I’m so proud of all of our players,” said Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Pat Stewart. “The team was relentless in their pursuit of victory, exuded confidence in moments of pressure while maintaining sportsmanship and composure throughout the game."

Other highlights from the game include:
  • Kate Peek '22: 23 points, 6 assists, 5 steals
  • Kimora Jenkins '21: 18 points, 5 assists, 4 steals
  • Khya Jenkins '21: 15 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists
"All players were stars in their roles," said Coach Stewart. "The bench energy was just as strong as the energy on the court. Everyone brought their best and contributed to this win."
