Millbrook vs. Tilton

Millbrook started off a two game road trip at Tilton. After a four hour bus trip up to New Hampshire, the Millbrook girls showed no signs of bus legs scoring just seconds after the opening faceoff off of a strong forecheck setting up a shot for alternate captain Nicole Bessinger. They didn't stop there. A majority of the first period was spent in the Tilton zone with Millbrook outchancing Tilton by a sizable margin. The second period appeared to even out a bit more with more time being spent in the neutral zone. Millbrook made it a three goal difference, then shortly after Tilton got on the board with their first goal of the game. The second period ended 3-1. Tilton saw a couple of good scoring chances generated from the high slot on the rush, but Catherine Champagne was equal to the task. Halfway through the period Millbrook set up on the powerplay and gave up a rush leading to a Tilton goal. Tilton score again 2 minutes later to tie the game up. Five minutes of back and forth play saw both teams playing with a great deal of intensity. With around two minutes left in the game, Milllbrook got another man advantage. Alternate captain Elise Almgren moved the puck across the point to her D-partner Julia Zangre who let a shot rip through traffic. The puck went off of a Tilton defense, off of Georgia Franco and into the Tilton goal to solidify the win for the girls in blue.
