Millbrook vs. Rivers

C. Coffman
Later in the afternoon, Millbrook faced off against the returning small school champs, Rivers School. Rivers seemed to catch Millbrook on their heals in the beginning of the game. The scoring chances and zone time were heavily in favor of the returning champions. Rivers scored early in the first. Millbrook showed a little life after that getting a goal from the point off of a slapshot from Thomasina Nash '22. The shot appeared to defy the laws of physics first sailing over the heads of the defenders out front before finding its way through the five-hole of Rivers' goalie. After that, the game was firmly in The Rivers School's grasp with a final score of 4-1 finding all of their goals in the first period. Catherine Champagne stopped a penalty shot late in the game to give the Mustangs a much needed energy boost.
