Mustangs Win Home Opener

Mustangs go to 2-0 with a 64-8 win
The Mustangs dominated both on offense and defense against Forman in their home debut at Callard Field. Millbrook did not waste time putting their first points on the scoreboard against Forman, with Sam Smith scoring on a 60 yard TD reception in the first 15 seconds of the game. Mustang offensive scoring was led by Matt Amato with 4 rushing touchdowns on over 100 yards of rushing and a 2-point conversion. Other offensive scorers were Alex Murray with 2 reception touchdowns totaling over 75 yards, including a 2-point conversion, and Mike Nassif also scored with a 15 yard touchdown run, along with two 2-point conversions. Thomas Sullivan also scored a 2-point conversion.   On defense, swarm tackling early in the game, quarterback sacks, many plays with opponent losses and 4 pass interceptions kept Forman at bay. The defense scored a touchdown on a Matt Amato interception with a 50 yard return. Two other interceptions were made by Mac Elliott, and one by Sam Smith. On the Smith interception, Alex Murray provided a solid block to provide a clear path to the end zone. Defensive sacks were provided by Mac Elliott, Jack Linnartz, Mike Nassif, and Alex Murray. The Mustangs have a bye next week, and Pomfret School will visit Callard Field on October 12th.
