Mustangs Beat Holderness

Mustangs win season opener at Holdnerness 40-28
Millbrook Football traveled 5 hours each way to Holderness School to solidly beat them 40-28, avenging last year’s loss at Holderness.  After some early Mustang turnovers, the Mustangs went on a scoring blitz.  Scoring was led by Matt Amato, with 4 touchdown runs and one 2-point conversion.   Other scorers were Thomas Sullivan with a touchdown run and 2-point conversion, and Alex Murray with two 2-point conversions.  The Mustang defense held Holderness to 8 points in the first half by forcing turnovers, swarm tackling and thwarting the Holderness passing game with strong pass rushing and secondary coverage.   Millbrook scored a safety in the 3rd quarter by a strong defensive rush forcing the Holderness QB to intentionally ground the ball in their own end zone.  Next Saturday the 28th, the Mustangs host Forman at 2:30 pm.
