Lady Mustangs Drop Opener

After only 5 practices and a Round Robin tournament on Wednesday, the Lady Mustangs made the road trip to Suffield, CT. to take on Suffield Academy. Millbrook would give up an early goal but regrouped to keep Suffield's sharp shooters at bay - a large part due to the spectacular play by senior keepter Elise Almgren '20. The score remained 1-0 at half time. The second half would begin just like the first, another early goal and then a greater effort by the backline of Callie Kenney '22, Brysha Schmidt '22, Daina Velez '21 and new comer Julia Zangre '22. In the closing frame of the game, Millbrook's ability to sustain a full 80 minutes of play showed and ended up conceeing 3 more goals. Beides the strong play of Almgren, Talbot Anning '22 had a strong game in the middle of the field. 

With no game on Wednesday, the team has a solid week to make adjustments and prepare for their first Class C game against rival St. Lukes.
