Reagan Brown '13 Writes News Article About Warner Gallery Exhibition

Alumnus and writer Reagan Brown '13 recently visited campus and penned an article about the Warner Gallery's current exhibition, Beautiful Boy

Her article discusses featured artist Lissa Rivera's work and how the exhibition connected to multiple academic disciplines at Millbrook. Beautiful Boy explores themes of identity and gender through photographs. "The exhibition is auspicious and groundbreaking at a time when LGBTQ rights and gender binaries are at the forefront of a cultural revolution," she writes. "Seen most preveniently on liberal arts college campuses. It makes it all the more fascinating that the show is exhibited on a boarding school campus located only a 90-minute train ride from New York City."

Reagan is a photographer and freelance writer based in New York City, and after graduating from Millbrook she earned her B.A. in Art History and Studio Art from Mount Holyoke College. She has held professional positions at Aperture Foundation, International Center of Photography, Aleya Lehmann-Bench Photography, and Nan Goldin Studio. Her photographic work has been featured in House Beautiful, Germ Magazine, as well as online for the social media company Crave Social LLC, the Siena School for Liberal Arts website, Handmade in Brooklyn Collective, and Museum Online Store for the Olana State Historic Site.

We were thrilled to welcome her back to campus and for her to share her reflections on the exhibition.
