Winning Weekend for the Mustangs

The Mustangs racked up multiple wins over the weekend, including two shutouts.

Boys varsity hockey defeated Hotchkiss, with a final score of 3-0. The Mustangs played well throughout the game, outshooting Hotchkiss 39-13. Goals were scored by Jake Gagnon '19, Jason Ruzkowski '19, and Greg Koutsomitis '18, with assists from Zach Taylor '18 and Jake Willis '19. Goalie, Cam Fernandez '19, had 13 saves. 

Boys varsity squash also earned a shutout, defeating Salisbury with a final score of 7-0. "All ten members of Mustang team played, and they didn't drop a game," said Head Boys Varsity Squash Coach Greg Reiss. Boys varsity squash is currently undefeated and will compete against Brunswick on Wednesday, January 10th. 

The final score was 4-3, with the Mustangs earning the win in girls varsity squash against Kingswood-Oxford (4-3). "The girls played tremendously to earn a challenging 4-3 victory," said Head Girls Varsity Squash Coach Trip Powers. 

Girls varsity basketball also earned victory over Forman in an exciting game on Saturday. The Mustangs were up by 7 points at halftime, and kept the lead for the majority of the game. However, Forman tied the game 24-24 with just 4 minutes remaining. The Mustangs answered with an 11-1 run, securing the win wirth a final score of 36-25. 

The Mustangs have shown conquest and character throughout the winter season thus far, and we look forward to continuing to cheer them on on the courts and ice. Go Mustangs!
