Strong Turnout for New York Reception

Two hundred attendees gathered this week for the New York Racquet and Tennis Club Reception. This annual event grows larger every year.

Alumni, parents, friends, and faculty gathered for good conversation, hors d’oeuvres, and an update on Millbrook School. Bob Anthony '65 introduced Headmaster Drew Casertano, describing his 43-year history with Millbrook and the upward momentum the school has experienced under Drew’s leadership for the past 26 years.

Drew spoke to Millbrook’s continued thoughtful growth, noting the completion of our beautiful new dining hall and the beginning of the construction on our new faculty housing, the Mill, and a new maintenance facility.

He also noted our largest enrollment (313) to date, "This is intentional, just like with everything else that we do, these numbers are rooted in our mission. It is the largest that we can be and still ensure that every student is known and needed, it is the largest that we can be and sustain our school’s culture, and it is the largest that we can be and still work the Millbrook magic for each and every student.”

He went on to discuss our new student programs including volleyball and the return of football plus new and unique academic programs including Conservation Economics and Design: Thinking & Making.

“We have been able to do these things because of two realities,” said Drew. “First, because we have an extraordinary board of trustees. And, secondly, because of you—your enthusiasm and commitment makes all the difference. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

The room was filled with positive energy and conversation for the remainder of the evening.
