Millbrook Graduates the Class of 2019 in 88th Commencement

Family and friends joined us on the Flagler Quad for Commencement on Sunday, May 26th. It was a joyous celebration of growth, community, tradition, and success. As Headmaster Drew Casertano said in his introductory remarks, “The Class of 2019 is leaving Millbrook better than they found it.”

Commencement festivities began on Saturday evening, as parents and advisors joined VIth formers for the traditional Senior Dinner. Afterward, everyone gathered under the main tent on the Flagler Quad for Prize Night, and faculty and administrators recognized graduates for outstanding achievement in all areas of school life.

On Sunday morning Millbrook board member, alumna, and parent, Kelly M. Coles '86, P '19, welcomed the graduates, underform students, faculty, friends, and families to Commencement. Paul Simons, father of Harry Simons '17 and Will Simons '19, delivered the Commencement Address, which was rich in reflection about his time as a Millbrook student and advice for our new graduates.

Sean Colman was this year’s student-selected VIth Form Commencement Speaker, and he shared wisdom from his four years as a Millbrook student, enthusiasm for what’s ahead, and good humor. "We are a unique class, and we have shown everyone what it means to leave it better than you found it," said Colman.

Following Colman's address, Headmaster Drew Casertano presented three special commencement prizes:
Sportsmanship Cup: Jayden Reaves
Community Service Cup: Vivian Yu
Summa Cum Laude: Charlotte Meigs

Immediately following the conclusion of the ceremony, students and faculty exchanged words, hugs, and handshakes, as graduates officially concluded their Millbrook careers. The weekend was both emotional and celebratory as the Class of 2019 bid farewell.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019!
