Update: Supporting the Allen Family

So many have reached out to ask how they can support the Allen family and the school during this very difficult time. We hope the information provided here is helpful, and we encourage people to reach out with any questions.
We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this incredibly difficult time for the Allen family and for our school community. We are very grateful, and we know that together we will get through this as a community that truly lives its motto, not for oneself but for all. We will carry on with care and focus on supporting the Allen family, our students, our faculty, our alumni, and extended Millbrook family members affected by this tragedy.

Please note the following regarding requests to attend services, help on campus, or send donations to support the family:
  1. There will be opportunities for alumni and friends to come together to mourn Ed Allen’s passing and also to celebrate his life. Details for these services are being determined, and we will post updates to the Millbrook website and will send notifications via email as plans are confirmed.
  2. An all-school service for Ed will be held this Thursday for the immediate Millbrook family: current students, faculty, and staff.
  3. We have received so many kind offers from those willing to offer assistance on campus. We will reach out via email when we have plans in place and need specific assistance. Our parents remain actively involved in helping us care for our students, and we could not be more grateful.
  4. A trust for Emily and the girls is currently being set up. We will provide specific donation information as soon as it available.
Many are also inquiring about Ed and Emily’s children, Codie and Tatum. They are still being cared for at a regional hospital, and we continue to ask for positive thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

We will continue to provide updates here. Alumni should reach out to Cindy McWilliams and parents to Barbara Gatski with any questions.
