Athletics

Millbrook School has a long history of strong, competitive athletics with a high standard of sportsmanship
.

Millbrook students are required to play team sports for at least two out of three seasons of the academic year. Team sports offered are:

  • Fall - boys and girls soccer and cross-country, girls field hockey.
  • Winter - boys and girls ice hockey, basketball, and squash
  • Spring - boys and girls tennis, lacrosse, and golf; boys baseball and girls softball.

While many students choose to play team sports all three terms, electives such as zoo squad, F.L.I.P. (Forest Land Improvement Project), dance, or recreational sports may be selected as alternatives one term per year. The school also has stable space for five horses and hundreds of miles of riding trails available on and surrounding the campus. During the fall and spring terms students may receive instruction at two nearby stables which provide horses and indoor riding facilities. Lessons are at an additional cost.

Millbrook's athletic program is greatly enhanced by the 86,000 square foot Mills Athletic Center. A center of student life on the campus, this spectacular facility houses an interscholastic basketball court, four international squash courts, a training complex and fitness center, and the indoor Bontecou Hockey Rink (convertible to four indoor tennis courts off season).

Millbrook School is committed to the education and development of the whole person. A state-of-the-art athletic center, combined with an already outstanding athletic program, enrich the total experience for Millbrook students.
