Tennis and Track New Englands Results

This past weekend the Mustangs competed in many exciting tennis and track New England championship events.
The boys varsity tennis team dominated play from the start, defeating Pingree School 4-0. The boys then progressed to face Kents Hill School in the finals. Kents was a very good team and were coming off an undefeated season. As play began, it became obvious it was going to be close. Momentum started to swing in Millbrook’s favor, and they ultimately defeated Kents 4-0, securing their first historical win at New Englands.

The girls varsity tennis team entered the tournament seeded #1, and fought hard to defend their placement. They decisively defeated Watskinson School 5-0 in the quarterfinals and advanced to face-off against defending champion, Greens Farms Academy, in the semi-finals. They had the chance to watch their quarterfinal game, and they knew it would be a tough test between the two equally matched teams. The Mustangs gave it their all, but eventually fell to Greens Farms 5-2.

Five members of Millbrook’s newly rekindled track team also earned New Englands tournament bids. While each and every member pushed their physical limits and made Millbrook proud, only Edward Opoku ’15 won an event. Edward flew past his competitors in the 100 meter dash, securing the teams first event championship.

Congratulations to all of the Mustangs on their thrilling performances this past weekend!
