Millbrook Students Join Relief Efforts in Brooklyn, NY

jl
Over thirty student volunteers jumped at the opportunity to help those still affected by hurricane Sandy.
What do Millbrook students have in common with the New York Jets, Rhianna, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg? They've all volunteered to help get New York City back on its feet in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy.

Two bus loads plus a caravan of faculty vehicles traveled from Millbrook to the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. The volunteers split up into groups helping local small businesses clean out debris, repair any salvageable equipment, plaster walls, and dispose of trash. The group partnered with the Red Hook Initiative for the restoration efforts. Click here to learn more about the Red Hook Initiative and how you can get involved.

The efforts of the students not only provided a much needed service in the community, but also brought the group together for a noble cause. The work was hard and yet the group was proud and smiling throughout the day.
