Mustangs earn a 58-48 Victory vs. Vermont Academy

Millbrook played terrific team defense, rebounded together, and consistently executed efficient offense to knock off perennial Class D power Vermont Academy 58-48. Millbrook and Vermont Academy traded blows in the first half ending with Millbrook leading 32-29 heading into the half. Both teams executed well offensively, and navigated significant foul trouble, with top players on both sides missing considerable first half time. The Millbrook defense defined the third quarter, and despite foul trouble, the Mustangs gave up 3 points in the quarter and found themselves up 42-32 heading into the 4th quarter. The Mustangs extended their lead to as many as 17 in the fourth quarter and secured a valuable road win after a 3-hour bus ride. Kimora Jenkins ’21 led the Mustangs in scoring with 29, Kate Peek ‘22 added 14 points, and Khya Jenkins ’21 scored 13 to pace the Millbrook. Millbrook looks forward to continuing to improve in their upcoming practices in preparation for Class A opponent Greenwich Academy on Wednesday.
