Millbrook gets back on track

Coach Powers
The Millbrook team showed its improvement again today.  After two tough losses, the girls were focused and ready for Albany.

The exhibition matches showed just how much we have improved as Squash players and competitors up and down the ladder.  Caitlyn Rodeo led the way with a decisive three game win at #8.  All the girls followed suit by winning in three straight games, showing better movement, court awareness, strategy and especially depth.  Precious Esielem, Sophie Swift, Anna Wilson and Skyler Nguyen all played some of their best Squash of the year to secure their convincing wins.

The top seven also played quite well.  Tracy He was the first to finish, earning a straight game win as she never let up and played tight, smart, composed Squash in the win.  Similarly, Captain Natalie Whitman regained her composure after dropping a tough third game to win in four.  Securing straight game wins were Caroline Hopkins, Nina Hoffman and Clara Bent.  I was really impressed with the way they continued to play patient smart Squash to close out their matches.  At #2 Lily Gooding played her heart out as always and lost a really close match, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11, 11-13.  Captain Paras Musallam was able to avenge her loss at Albany a few weeks ago by simply hitting great depth and hard kill shots, but most importanly competing for every point.  She was unflappable today!

We head on the road again to face a tough test in Miss Porter's on Saturday.  As always, thanks for the support.  This is an exceptional group of girls who support each other every day!
