Millbrook vs. Canterbury

The Millbrook girls squared off against Canterbury after a road trip through New Hampshire for both teams. Canterbury got off to a quick start catching Millbrook on their heals. Canterbury was able to score just over two minutes into the first period on a powerplay. Canterbury sustained pressure for a little bit, but at the eight minute mark the game evened out with neither side giving up much. Millbrook found their footing at around the 10 minute mark when Jeannie Wallner found the back of the net after picking off a cross ice pass in the neutral zone and getting a lone breakaway. A couple minutes later Millbrook struck again off of a backhand from Nicole Bessinger with assists coming from her line mates Bailey Tymeson and Jeannie Wallner. The second period was all Millbrook with them pegging three more goals off of a laser of a shot from the side wall from Elise Almgren, a rebound wrap around from Jeannie Wallner, and a batted rebound from Georgia Franco 10 seconds before the buzzer to end the second. The third period saw far fewer powerplays as both teams tightened up their games. It wasn't until 2 minutes left in the game that Canterbury was able to break Carina Mancini a second time, but it was too little too late. Millbrook wins 5-2.
