Mustangs Shutout St. George's

Boys varsity hockey shutout St. George's yesterday afternoon (4-0), bringing their overall record to 4-2.

The Mustangs controlled the majority of the game and came out strong from the beginning. "We had a very good first two periods, creating plenty of scoring chances," said Head Boys Varsity Hockey Coach Vinnie Sorriento '96. The team secured a 1-0 lead after the first and went on to score two more goals midway through the second. Another goal was added in the third, bringing the overall score to 4-0, with the Mustangs taking the win.

"This was a solid win for the group," said Coach Sorriento '96. "It was important to head into exam week and our December tournaments with some momentum and two games above .500, and I'm proud of the team for achieving those objectives."

The Mustangs will now turn their attention to securing wins in the classroom by studying for their upcoming exams. They will then defend their 2018 championship title in this year's Brooks-Pingree Tournament (December 21-22) and go on to compete in the Belmont Hill-Nichols Tournament (December 28-30).
