More PRs on home course for Millbrook Girls

Coach Havard
While Kent come out on top, five Millbrook racers bested their previous times on our course this season in our final home race.
Kent and Millbrook runners put in a fast first mile on the course, despite - or perhaps because of - a large snake sunning itself half-way up ski hill (we think it was a larger-than-usual Eastern garter snake - see picture).  When the racers emerged from the woods at 2.75 miles, Lara D'Alessandro of Kent had taken a commanding lead and finished the race in 20:39.  Dorothy Walker gave chase to the second Kent runner and while she couldn't overtake her, she put in her best time on our course. Elizabeth Finch was next in 4th place, also in a PR time that inched into the 24:00's.  Lillie Marcos turned in a heart-stopping finish just behind a Kent runner in 7th place, also in her best time this season. Lilla Powers finished 11th, another PR and important milestone time.  Mattie Lewis finished in 15th, again in a photo-finish, and shaving several seconds off her best time.  Pam Ngyuen completed the field for Millbrook.  While Pam hasn't approached her time at the Canterbury Invitationals, she'll have another opportunity to race there at New Englands.  The girls have a well-deserved rest this long weekend!
