Millbrook girls compete hard at home

Millbrook girls run well but fall to Gunnery in the first dual race of the season
On Wednesday, September 26, Millbrook girls ran their first home varsity race in over a year.  WIth many new racers on the team, our goals were to attack the hills, gain more racing experience, and support one another to the finish. By the first mile, Gianna Rucillo of Gunnery had established a commanding lead.  Millbrook's Dorothy Walker strategically hung on the shoulder of the second Gunnery runner until the final half mile, when she passed her decisively and took a strong second in the race.  Next in for Millbrook was Lillie Marcos; it was great to have her back after her injury this summer.  Mattie Lewis, Lilla Powers, and Elizabeth Finch each turned in a strong first mile and a solid finish to round out the team.  Saturday will give them the chance to work on that second mile!  We race Westover at home at 3 pm.  Hope to see some fans there!
