Comeback Falls Short

Down 13 at the half, Millbrook surrendered the first basket of the second half, and then did not give up another point for ten minutes of game time. Playing hard-nosed defense, crashing the boards on both ends, and working together in the half court offense, the Mustangs climbed all the way back to tie the game with under five minutes to play. Salisbury made its free throws down the stretch, however, and Millbrook could not cap the win. Still, it was a high-character half for the team, which was playing a little short-handed. Robbie Roberts '20, playing in his first game of the year, came off the bench to fill several crucial roles. Mateo Winogrand '19 provided leadership, intense defense, and 7 of his 9 points in the second half. Our forward rotation of Nick Rayman '20 (11 points), Toby Ayer '19 (6 points), Charlie Zhu '18(2) and Henry Wang '18 (2) crashed the glass relentlessly throughout.
