Mustangs Defeat Berkshire Bears in Multiple Monday Games

The Mustangs took on the bears on the court and ice on Monday, January 15th, and earned victory in multiple arenas.

Boys varsity basketball competed at home, and defeated Berkshire with a final score of 63-56. Down five points with four minutes to go in the first half, Millbrook was able to secure five defensive stops in a row, forcing a 31-31 tie at the intermission. The Mustangs found themselves in a similar situation late in the second half, and down by two with just four minutes to go, they closed the game on a sixteen to seven run.

Boys varsity squash shut out Berkshire, with a final score of 7-0, and girls varsity hockey tied Berkshire in an exciting game that resulted in a final score of 1-1.

"Both teams created promising scoring opportunities in front of the net throughout the game," said Head Varsity Hockey Coach Corey Cooper. Millbrook scored the first goal off of a rebound from a quick point shot, but Berkshire tied it up later in the first period, batting a high rebound out of the air. The Mustangs continued to battle hard on the blue lines, stay out of the box, and get shots on net. The teams played a 5-minute overtime and ended in a 1-1 draw.

It was an exciting Monday for the Mustangs. Be sure to check the athletic section of our website for full schedules, highlights, and more.
