Red Pandas in the News!

Our red pandas, Berry and Zhu, have been making headlines this week, with coverage on Good Morning America, USA Today, ABC News, and the Washington Post, among other media outlets.

This is not the first time that the Trevor Zoo and its animals have received media coverage, as they have also been featured in TIMEThe Denver Post, and the New York Times.

Millbrook is the only high school in the nation with a zoo, and today the Trevor Zoo accommodates more than 180 exotic and indigenous animals, including eight endangered species, within facilities that extend over six acres and include a veterinary clinic. In 1989, the zoo was accredited by the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums)

As part of the science and community service programs and of the overall curriculum of Millbrook School, the Trevor Zoo encourages its students to act as stewards of the natural world and to serve others. The zoo offers unique opportunities for Millbrook students to develop an appreciation for wildlife and a conservation ethic through direct contact with living animals, through associated academic classes, and through research.

Berry and Zhu are clearly enjoying the winter months, and we hope everyone has enjoyed watching them!
