Boys Varsity Basketball Defeats Berkshire in First Game of the Season

Boys varsity basketball had a slam dunk season opener yesterday afternoon, defeating the Berkshire Bears with a final score of 74-66.

"Millbrook showed consistent grit and determination against an athletic and competitive Berkshire squad," said Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Billy Thom.

The first half of the game was a back-and-forth affair until the last two minutes, when Millbrook used a 6-0 run to jump to a 44-35 lead at the half. Millbrook used that momentum to enhance the lead to 55-37 with ten minutes to go in the game. Berkshire responded by cutting the lead to four points with just three minutes to go; but Millbrook showed poise down the stretch, making four of their final five free throws, and scoring on each of their final four possessions, which resulted in them securing the well deserved win.
