Succesful Senior Day race at Berkshire

Coach Havard
Millbrook's mustangs raced Canterbury, Gunnery, and Berkshire on Berkshire Bears home course Saturday.  As expected, senior Anna Oeser of Canterbury outpaced the entire field by over a minute, running 19:19.  After that, the race was incredibly tight between these four teams, making for exciting finishes.
We're still awaiting results at publication, so our scores versus Gunnery and Canterbury will be forthcoming.  Millbrook fell to Berkshire 24 - 31.  Senior Ella Horn ran her best race of the season, clocking in under 24 minutes and finishing first for Millbrook.  Co-captain Kerry Carr and Anna Wilson again packed together beautifully and fought through shin spints and IT band issues to finish well.  Senior Cindy He also ran her best race of the season, finishing fourth for Millbrook in under 26, and passing a Gunnery runner in the final stretch.  Raphaella Pope, struggling with foot pain, pushed through to finish next for Millbrook. Dorothy Walker and Clare Carty were again a dynamic duo throughout the race and finished strong.  Congratulations to Kazuki for winning the competitive boys race!  And many thanks to all the parents who supported the racers and fed us well at our senior-day picnic afterwards.  Special thanks to Sara Carr for organizing!  This week brings the annual pizza run (8 miles) on the rail trail, and then our penultimate race - a 6 school invitational - at Suffield next weekend.
