'Brook stays strong

Following some challenging games for the Millbrook boys JV soccer team against IMS, South Kent, and Kent, none of which fell Millrbook's way despite their efforts, the team still came out strong and hungry to compete against Salisbury School. This time their efforts paid off. The team has been working hard to improve in practice and it truly is beginning to show. Against Salisbury they really played soccer. From defending bravely and in an organized manner, to attacking creatively and effectively, it was one of the best showings the team has had this season. Some unbelievable goals were scored–I think the game ball was lighter than what the boys normally play with! August opened the scoring with a rip from 30 yards out that sailed over the keeper. Nick Sosnow seems to only be able to score the most difficult shots– getting his name on the scoring sheet in the second half with an off the post shot from 25 yards out. Connor Bressette added to his tally with a composed finish off of a breakaway, and Nick Rayman had his first goal of the season off of a nice volley in the box that went off the post and in. Overall, the team has stayed hopeful and kept their spirits high despite some challenging games, and their hard work is beginning to pay off. On Wednesday Millbrook will head to IMS seeking revenge!
