Mustangs of the Week - October 9, 2017

Boys Varsity Soccer, Sam Seaver '19
Sam Seaver has been a strong presence on the field for Millbrook, whether playing his spot in the midfield with poise and determination or anchoring the back corners calmly and skillfully.

Girls Varsity Soccer, Elise Almgren '20
Elise has been a true competitor since the first day of practice. She has an excellent work ethic, and is always looking to improve her game. In the last 2 outings, Elise has recorded 2 shutouts. As a result, Elise helped the team achieve 2 important wins, and raise the team’s overall record to 3-1-1.

Football, Mike Nassif '20
Mike continued his very impressive play both offensively and defensively in the game against Forman on Saturday. On offense, Mike scored several 2-point conversions which helped the Mustangs soundly defeat Forman. Mike demonstrates excellent mechanics at the fullback position when running with the ball and providing key blocking on other plays. On defense, Mike makes excellent form tackles, which follow outstanding pursuit technique from his middle linebacker position, usually resulting in a loss for the opponent. Mike also consistently demonstrates excellent leadership on and off the field, whether it is with his encouragement of his teammates in the huddle, he is always helping other teammates with their assignment on a play.

Varsity Field Hockey, Lucy Burke '19
Lucy really stepped up and was a standout player in both games last week. Her willingness to try new things and ask questions in practice pay off in big ways come game day.

Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Jake Lockwood '20
Jake has shown outstanding imporvement in a short amount of time, and we look forward to continuing to watch him grow throughout the seaosn. Well done, Jake!

Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Kaitlyn Bressette '21 and Sophie Swift '21
Kaitlyn and Sophie share many of the same qualities on and off the field. Both give 100% all of the time, both have positive, can-do attitudes, and both are flexible both on and off the field. Both girls have been moved to a variety of spots on the field when injuries necessitated that we move them from their regular positions and have performed well.

Junior Varsity Field Hockey, Avery Garhart '21
Avery has volunteered to play goalie and has done an amazing job! She has the sweetest personality off the field, but plays hard and aggressive on the field.
