Comeback of epic proportions in Middlebury, CT

Long time fan, first time contributor
Today, the Mustangs walked into a cold gym, unaware of their fate in the Wildcats gymnasium. The first game went all the way of the Wildcats and they were able to serve Millbrook off of the court. Game two was a little closer, but produced the same result. Behind some carefully placed sets by Kate Smith and some thunderous attacks at the net by Piper Strautman, the Mustangs were able to take the third game. The tension in the gym was palpable during game 4 of the match. With the score tied at 23 all, the two teams exchanged points until Millbrook eventually prevailed. Game 5 was a game of runs, as Simone Yañez served the first seven points of the game to take a 7-0 lead. Westover eventually took the lead 12-9. With the game getting away from them, the Mustangs won a few rallies to win the game and the match.

Final Score: (18-25, 21-25, 25-22, 29-27, 15-13)

Quote of the match: "Has anyone seen my water bottle? It says Kate S. on it." - Kate Smith
