Disheartening

This afternoon, the boys traveled to Kent School where we faced a very physical opponent and a challenging officiating situation. The time away from the pitch this weekend appeared to play a role in our slow start and we were quickly down by two goals. Bouda brought us to within one; Kent countered to lead at the half 3 – 2. The second half was a chippy affair, as Kent sought to neutralize Bouda’s impact. Man-marking and rough tackles took their toll but despite these efforts, Bouda scored twice more. Unfortunately, Millbrook ran out of time and failed to close the gap before regulation expired.

Performances of note this afternoon included Tuke, who played another superb game in net, recording 13 saves which included several certain goals. Davis was a significant presence in the back for the second game in a row. Roberts and Rundquist did their best to bottle Kent up in the midfield and King proved to be our best outside midfielder today.
