Millbrook Boys Beat Salisbury and Gunnery

Coach Meltzer
In a close race, Millbrook squeezed out a win against the Salisbury School and The Gunnery at a meet held at the Salisbury School.  The weather was warm, dry, and seasonable for the October 7 race.  The Gunnery's top runner finished first overall, with Millbrook runner Kazuki Unayama ('18) close behind for second.  This course is notable for the wooded portions, which make up the majority of the course.  A challenging uphill marks the final push to the finish.  Mateo Winogrand ('19) came in fourth, followed by Sam Iacavazzi (18) in 6th.  Charlie Weisberg ('21) and David Nesterov-Rappoport ('18) were 9th and 10th, respectively.  Chris Wilkins ('18) pushed hard up the final hill, and finished the race in 12th.  Runners Jayden Reeves ('19) and Henry Schulz ('18) finished on each other's heals after running much of the race together, and came in 16th and 17th.  Will Ricker ('20) also gave a strong effort, and came in 19th.  Buzz Galbraith gave a consistent, well-paced run and finished in 24th.  Finally, with an incredibly strong finish, Fenway Powers ('21) rounded out the Millbrook squad in 32nd place.  Overall, Millbrook runners were pleased to earn the win, despite a challenging final uphill push for many on the team.  Of note is Millbrook's participation at this race in the One Love Domestic Violence Awareness Event, sponsored by the Salisbury School.  Thanks so much to Salisbury for hosting Millbrook and for putting on a great race.
