Road trip to Williston

Saturday’s match was another of those see-saw affairs which make soccer an exciting game to play and watch. Playing on turf for the first time, Millbrook jumped out to an early lead when Bouda scored in the 3rd minute. Williston answered less than 10 minutes later. At the half, the score was knotted at 2 apiece. Although we came out for the second half with determination, Williston managed two unanswered goals and appeared to be headed for an easy victory. Millbrook refused to roll over, however, and kept at the task in the waning minutes of the contest. One goal from Bouda and another from Darmon, with less than 7 minutes to play, brought the Mustangs even. The match ended in a draw, with each side having a couple of last minute chances to pull ahead. Bouda finished the day with three goals and an assist, paced by Darmon with a goal and an assist. Other stand-outs were Roberts and Day, who held firm in the back, and Seaver and Tardio, who played well in the middle.
