Learning on Game One

JVFH got off to a great start and I'm proud that players jumped in and worked hard, despite varying levels of experience. We spent more time on defense the first half with six penalty corners. In the second half we were able to put more pressure on Canterbury and spent more time on offense with one offensive corner and several shots on goal by Izzy Finemore. Mattie Lewis kicked up the intensity after half time and worked hard to push the ball toward Canterbury's net. Molly Kissane was integral in the mid-field helping to move the ball from defense to offense. Defenders Emma Tran, Claire Reid and Cate Sinclaire were strong, had great saves, channeling and hits. Lastly, many thanks for Angie Marin for volunteering to play goalie for our first game, great job and many saves.
