Edward Opoku '15 Named to Elite MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

Alumnus Edward Opoku '15 is one of just 31 players nationwide who was recently named to the elite United Soccer Coaches MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.

The MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List is compiled by members of the United Soccer Coaches Men's NCAA Division I All-America Committees. The Hermann Trophy is the equivalent of college football's Heisman Trophy for college soccer.

Opoku '15, who plays for the Virginia Cavaliers, earned All-ACC honors during his first two seasons, which included being named to the ACC-All Freshman Team. In his two years at the University of Virginia, Opoku '15 has played in 36 games, starting in all but three. He was second on his team in goals scored last season with a total of six, five of which served as game-winners. He has also served up five assists. In his '16-'17 season Edward was also selected for 2nd Team All-American by the USCAA.

During his time as a Mustang, Opoku '15 scored 80 goals, had 30 assists, and 110 total points (a Millbrook record). He was also a WNEPSSA all-select player each of his 4 years at Millbrook.

We are thrilled for Opoku '15 and his well-deserved honor, and are excited to continue following his success this upcoming season.
