Personal Bests at NEPSTA Track Championships

Millbrook's track team competed in the NEPSTA championships at Cheshire Academy on May 20th.

The Mustangs were a competitive force, as many of them performed their personal best and defeated opponents. Suwaibatu Mohammed '19 won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13 seconds. She was the top seed at the meet and lived up to the ranking, while also earning All-New England honors for her performance. She also added to her point value, placing second in the 200 meter dash as the fourth seed. Overall, the girls' finished with 18 total points, tieing for 10th place out of 23 schools that participated.

Several members of our boys' team had personal records. Ousseni Bouda '19 finished 12th in the long jump category, with a distance of 19 feet and 6.5 inches. Uni Hunte '18 earned his best time in the 110 meter hurdle race, and Zack Robertson '18 was close to medaling in the triple jump, as he finished fourth with a jump of 41 feet. Finally, Kazuki Unayama '18 placed 7th against a strong field in the 1500 meter run with a personal best time of 4 minutes and 25 seconds. He also earned points in the 3,000 meter run, as he placed 5th with a personal best time of 9 minutes and 43 seconds. The boys finished 18th out of 23 schools.
