Mustangs Rack Up Multiple Wins

The Mustangs have shown their athletic prowess, having already secured multiple victories this spring season.

Our boys varsity baseball team is currently ranked No. 1 in the Western New England Prep Baseball League. They have had a strong start to the season, earning victory over St. Luke's, Gunnery, Berkshire, South Kent, Canterbury, and Salisbury.

"Our win over Berkshire was a true team effort. We had contributions from everyone in the lineup," said Head Varsity Baseball Coach Robb Arndt. "Over the course of the season, we have said that we will be successful if we run the bases well, play solid defense, and string together strong at-bats. We were able to succeed in these three areas against Berkshire, which enabled our success."

Colby Dunlop has had multiple awesome outings on the mound, including in the recent game against Berkshire, where he kept the Bears bats off balance, and worked well in conjunction with the Mustang defense.

Our girls varsity softball team has also had a strong start to the Spring athletic season, earning wins against Kent, Canterbury, Hamden Hall, and Miss Hall's.

"Riley Croghan '18 had a huge day against Miss Hall's," said Head Varsity Softball Coach Lindsay Peterson. The Millbrook hurler earned the no-hit, shutout win with 12 strikeouts in 5 innings against Mill Hall's, and also hit two home runs at bat, including a grand slam.

Both the boys and girls varsity lacrosse teams have also earned well deserved wins against tough competitors, with the boys earning victory over Cheshire, Kingswood, Kent, Williston and Canterbury; and, the girls over Suffield, King School, Greens Farms, and Gunnery.

We are excited to continue following the success of our teams throughout the remainder of the spring athletic season. Go Mustangs!
