Millbrook Alumni Lead Their Collegiate Teams to Big Wins

Multiple Millbrook alumni led their collegiate hockey teams to big wins over this past weekend.

Alumna Melissa Sheeran ’14 drove the SUNY Plattsbugh Cardinals in their victory against SUNY Potsdam with a hat trick on Friday. After scoring two goals early in the game, Sheeran finished with an unassisted power-play marker at 8:08 in the third period. “Following a scramble in front of the net, Sheeran skated from behind the net and stuffed in the puck just inside the left post,” stated an article on the Cardinals’ website. The top-ranked SUNY Plattsburgh team shutout Potsdam and won the game with a final score of 5-0.

A member of the NCAA Division I Union College men’s hockey team, Brett Supinski ’14 also played a powerful game against Princeton on Saturday. This win was The Dutchmen’s third ECAC Hockey sweep of the season, with a final score of 7-3. Brett contributed both a goal and an assist to this big win for the The Dutchmen.

Rory Gagnon ’14, who plays for Hamilton College, also had a powerful weekend on the ice. He assisted three goals in the Continentals’ game against Trinity on Friday, December 2, and opened with a score on his second shot of the season in their game against Wesleyan on Saturday. The Hamilton College men’s hockey team shutout Wesleyan, which puts them in an elite group of only three teams in NECSAC Division III who are currently undefeated.

Jacob Moreau ’15, who plays hockey with Connecticut College, scored the first of his team’s three power goals against Middlebury in the third period of the game. He tied the game at 2:44 into the third period. His teammates followed his lead and scored two more goals, which resulted in their triumph over Middlebury with a final score of 4-2.

We love celebrating with and following our alumni athletic accomplishments. Athletics, across all levels, continues to be an integral part of Millbrook’s mission and student experience. Go Mustangs!
