Tremendous progress distinguished the past two decades at Millbrook School with the completion of Pulling Together, a plan designed and orchestrated by the Board of Trustees, which raised $36 million, and Pulling Forward, which raised an additional $40 million and resulted in the new Math and Science Center, completed in the spring of 2008. The current capital campaign, which kicked off in 2012, has raised over $56 million to date. Having addressed academic and athletic priorities early on, the current focus is on student life. $30 million of these funds have or will support initiatives for a comprehensive Student Life Master Plan including a complete renovation of the Barn, the addition of four new international squash courts, a new girls dorm (West Hall), a new dining hall, and much more. The overall goal of $65 million includes $10 million in Annual Fund monies plus $25 million in endowment to support crucially important faculty development, finanical aid, and student program initiatives.
While funds are raised for these exciting projects, it is equally as essential to Millbrook’s financial health that the Annual Fund continues to grow. This support feeds the yearly operating budget including faculty salaries, financial aid, and the day-to-day operation of the campus. Thanks to alumni, parents, and friends, the Annual Fund continues to see robust growth year after year. In addition to the Annual Fund, a growing number of constituents have joined the 1931 Society, which honors those who have made planned gifts for the school was established to ensure Millbrook's long-term financial stability.
We are so fortunate to have a large and dedicated force of alumni and parent volunteers who carry out their important roles with purpose and passion, and Millbrook School is forever indebted to them. As we look to the future of Millbrook School, we do so with optimism and purpose, and we count on the members of the Millbrook family to contribute in helping us fulfill its compelling mission in today's challenging times.
