"The new dining hall will be the most important building constructed at Millbrook since the chapel."
So said Gil Schafer '80, chairman of the Physical Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees, when presenting this new facility for their consideration.
He was exactly right. In a school where everything we teach is through community, the dining hall is where the community — students, faculty and staff and their families — gather three times a day, seven days a week.
Construction was completed in May 2016, just in time for the 2016-17 academic year, and as anticipated, it is at the center of the Millbrook community in every way.
Headmaster Drew Casertano is thrilled:
"The new dining hall represents our values in every way - from being built and designed to the highest environmental standards, to being directly linked to the campus farm. And with our enrollment now over 300, we are enjoying this new facility daily."
